Delete a News Feed Category

To keep your Loyalty instance uncluttered, the best practice recommendation is to delete unneeded or test News Feed Categories. The deletion process is permanent and irrevocable; you can’t later restore a deleted News Feed Category.

You don't need to remove the News Feeds from the News Feed Category prior to deleting the Category. Deleting the News Feed Category has no impact on the News Feeds currently assigned to the Category (the platform will simply remove the Category assignment from those News Feeds).

To delete a News Feed Category:

  1. Select Communities from the top navigation bar, then select Settings > News Feed Categories from the side navigation menu. The News Feed Categories screen is displayed.

  2. Optionally, enter a search string in the Search field. You can search for News Feed Categories based on their Display Name or Internal Name. Click the Search icon. The screen is refreshed to show only the News Feed Categories that meet your search criteria.

  1. To sort the search results, select the desired sort order from the Sort By drop-down menu. The default sort order is by: Category ID.

  2. Click the name of the desired News Feed Category. The Edit News Feed Category pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Click Delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click Confirm.
